Earlier, the deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Stremousov, said that about 1.5 thousand residents of Kherson had applied for Russian citizenship. 

He also noted that the Kherson region will continue its course towards integration with Russia, regardless of the position of the EU and the union's refusal to recognize Russian passports issued in the region.
