After
the decision of the Constitutional Council
, the leaders of the Yewwi Askan Wi coalition reacted to the press on Tuesday June 7.
It is a new “
forfeiture
” declared Khalifa Sall.
“
We cannot let certain people, because they are at a certain level, play with our destiny and the cohesion of our nation
”, launches the opponent and former mayor of Dakar.
For Ousmane Sonko, the decision of the Constitutional Council is illegal: “
We warn the Constitutional Council.
We allow ourselves to trample on the law, to trample on the Constitution and to put the country in insecurity.
But let them understand that sooner or later they will realize their irresponsibility because what they did was a flagrant violation of the law.
"The mayor of Ziguinchor accuses the judges of the institution of"
high treason
", according to him to prepare a possible third candidacy of Macky Sall in 2024. He calls for a large mobilization tomorrow, "
with or without authorization
" from the prefecture warns -he.
This demonstration had been announced before the decision of the Constitutional Council.
Several observers fear tensions: the deadly riots of March 2021 are in people's minds.
Especially since the ruling coalition also calls on its activists to mobilize.
Pape Mahawa Diouf, head of communication for the Benno Bokk Yakaar majority, accuses the leaders of Yewwi Askan Wi of "
using violence
" to "
threaten the institutions
".
According to him, the opposition coalition is looking for “
false evasions
”, because “
it has no project for Senegal
”: “
their only project is to say that President Macky Sall must go.
It's clearance, it's too easy.
Their only means of action remains the discourse of violence, bravado and the call for insurrection.

Yewwi Askan Wi assures us that this Wednesday's demonstration will be a "
