It was 15.40 when Conny Malmlund came driving on Ruddamsgatan in central Gävle.

When he was about to turn out onto Kungsgatan, two girls came riding an electric scooter.

- They came as if shot from a cannon on the sidewalk, says Conny Malmlund.

- I saw the girls come to the electric park, drive right out and collide with the motorcyclist who came here on Ruddamsgatan at normal speed, says Maria Rosén, who witnessed the accident.

Wants the police to do more

After the accident, the girls wanted to leave the scene of the accident, but Conny, Maria and another witness made sure that they remained until the police arrived.

Conny thinks that the police should do more to curb the scooters' progress on the streets.

- The police are ignoring them.

I've seen them ride three on a scooter, yet the cops just pass by.

None of those involved were seriously injured in the accident but Conny scratched his arm.

- It's just a matter of time before it hits.

This time it happened to me.

Next time, someone might die, says Conny Malmlund.
