A 10-year-old boy is in intensive care in

Bolivia

due to repeated rapes to which he was subjected by four men who were his neighbors and who

infected him with HIV

.

The mother of the 10-year-old boy, who protects his identity, asked this Tuesday through the media for justice to be done with her son, who

is currently in intensive care

and is notably traumatized by the rapes.

"He is afraid of men

," said the mother, who in the midst of tears asked that the population help her with her son's medical expenses and that justice be done.

The incident happened in the town of

Yapacaní

, in the eastern region of

Santa Cruz

, and the alleged aggressors are four brothers who were his neighbors and with whom he was going to play, the mother said.

Meanwhile, the director of the Santa Cruz Special Force to Fight Violence,

Carlos Oporto

, told the media that two of the aggressors are minors, 15 and 17 years old, while the other two are 23 and 28. The 28-year-old man died last year of AIDS.

Porto detailed that the first complaint was made in October 2021 "as a result of the contagion" and the minor was already hospitalized in intensive care due to the disease.

Later, when the boy left the center and the psychological evaluation was carried out, he identified two of the aggressors.

The authorities arrested two of the accused, one of whom was sent to the

Palmasola prison in Santa Cruz

, while the other was transferred to

the Cenvicruz youth center

, as for the third person involved, he is not in the country, according to information from the media.

This case has generated indignation and shock in the Bolivian population that also asks for justice for the child and that the corresponding investigations be carried out.
