A homeopath accused of having raped a patient tried at the assizes in Avignon

A doctor appears before the Vaucluse Assize Court on Tuesday and Wednesday.

He is accused of having raped a patient on June 7, 2016, in his office, located in Jonquerettes, reports

.

This homeopath and acupuncturist, 56 years old at the time of the events, would have first touched the chest of the victim before penetrating it with his fingers and his penis.

The patient left the office in a hurry and immediately lodged a complaint.

A therapeutic massage, according to the accused

Heard by the gendarmes, the doctor had only admitted having introduced his fingers into the vagina of the victim, without warning her.

According to him, it is a therapeutic massage inspired by shiatsu, with no sexual connotation.

He had, however, assured that it was the first time that he had committed such gestures on a patient.

The accused had been placed under judicial supervision.

He faces 15 years in prison.
