South Korean and US military authorities mobilized 20 stealth fighters, including F-35A, to protest in the air in response to North Korea's successive missile provocations and concerns about a seventh nuclear test.



The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said, "In response to North Korea's continued provocation of ballistic missiles, the ROK-US alliance conducted a combined surface-to-surface missile firing yesterday (6th) and an air force demonstration flight today (7th)." said.



In particular, 16 South Korean Air Force F-35A, F-15K, and KF-16 fighters equipped with precision-guided weapons participated in the combined aerial force demonstration conducted by the ROK and US military authorities today, and four F-16 fighters from the US Air Force participated. The Joint Chiefs of Staff explained.

These 20 fighters formed an attack squadron in airspace over the West Sea.



An official from the Joint Chiefs of Staff said, "Through this joint air force demonstration flight, we can quickly and accurately strike against any North Korean provocation."



Despite the combined response of the US and South Korea, there are speculations that North Korea will soon conduct its 7th nuclear test.



The ROK and US military authorities are likely to deploy stronger strategic assets to put pressure on North Korea.
