In response to North Korea's provocation of short-range ballistic missiles, South Korea and the United States mobilized 20 F-35A stealth fighters and held a joint air force demonstration against North Korea over the West Sea.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said that South Korea and the United States conducted an air force demonstration flight in response to North Korea's continuous ballistic missile provocations this morning (7th).

Twenty aircraft, including 16 F-35A, F-15K, and KF-16 fighters from the South Korean Air Force, and four F-16 fighters from the US Air Force in Korea, took part in this joint air force demonstration flight.

This is a demonstration of armed force against North Korea after the two armies responded yesterday with eight ATACMS missiles in response to North Korea's launch of eight short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) on the 5th.

The South Korean and American fighters formed an attack squadron in airspace over the West Sea and flew overwhelmingly to counter the enemy threat, the Joint Chiefs of Staff reported.

The ROK and the United States evaluated that this combined air force demonstration flight demonstrated a strong ability and will to strike quickly and accurately against any provocation from North Korea by demonstrating the combined defense capabilities and posture of the ROK and the United States.

"The South Korean military is maintaining a firm readiness posture in preparation for further North Korean provocations," the Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement.
