It's a new strike day for caregivers.

The white coats parade in the streets of several cities, at the call of nine unions and collectives of caregivers, to demand additional means, an increase in staff and wages.

In Bordeaux, they are already gathered Place de la République.

Understaffed, low pay, endless guards: for several months, the media have been describing the malaise of caregivers.

The latter are mobilizing once again, this Tuesday, to alert on the catastrophic situation of the public hospital.

Demonstrations are planned in around fifty cities, at the call of nine unions and collectives of caregivers.

In Bordeaux, white coats are in the street.

"We can no longer retain our caregivers"

In Bordeaux, about 200 people are gathered in the center of the city, Place de la République.

The demonstrators fear that the hospital will crack soon.

Caregivers arrived from the neighboring university hospital and stuck protest bandages on their chests or stickers on which we can read their anger, on their backs.

"Our daily life is to tell the person who wants to take their leave 'no, we won't be able to, we'll have to move on', and all that obviously creates a feeling of frustration and dissatisfaction", says Frédéric, healthcare manager at Pellegrin Hospital.

"We are seeing more and more departures, we are no longer able to be attractive, to retain our caregivers", he regrets at the microphone of Europe 1.

Wave of absenteeism

Hospitals are also facing a major wave of absenteeism among caregivers.

"It's absolutely not catastrophism. This summer, caregivers are entitled to their holidays, so they will take their holidays. There will be fewer staff when we are a tourist region", exclaims- he.

A rally is also planned in Paris in front of the Ministry of Health in the afternoon.
