“Many years of mistakes by Western countries in economic policy and illegitimate sanctions have led to a wave of global inflation,” Putin said in an address to the organizers of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, posted on the Kremlin’s website.
According to him, these mistakes also led to an increase in poverty and food shortages.
Putin also said that the 2020s for Russia will become a period of strengthening economic sovereignty, and its economy will maintain a course towards international cooperation.
