The Indian Ministry of Defense issued a statement on the 6th saying that India successfully test-fired an "Agni-4" medium-range ballistic missile that day.

  The missile was launched at around 19:30 local time at Dr. Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha, in eastern Odisha, the statement said.

  According to the data, the Agni-4 missile is one of a series of missiles developed by the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization. It can carry a warhead weighing about one ton and has an effective range of 3,500 to 4,000 kilometers.
