In the war between Russia and Ukraine, gas deliveries to Europe have become a means of pressure for Vladimir Putin.
Russia stopped supplying Finland with Russian gas in mid-May after the Nordic country refused to pay the supplier in roubles.
For Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for the Internal Market, France must regain its "autonomy" as soon as possible.
