An intelligent criminal scammer who solved the credit card algorithm with his own formula written in his notebook and stole other people's credit cards more than 100 times was arrested.

Argentine local media C5N reported on the 26th local time that the police had arrested a man in his 50s on charges of credit card theft.

The culprit is Fernando Alberto Falsetti, 56, who runs a newsstand in Buenos Aires.

From May to September of last year, he made a total of 169 payments using someone else's credit card, and earned a monetary profit of about 1 million Argentine Pesos (about 10.37 million Korean Won).

Falseti committed his crimes by stealing someone else's credit card to deposit money on his prepaid card or by buying goods or services on the Internet and then selling them back.

The incident came to light when a cable broadcasting company first reported that '169 prepaid account purchases and paid services were paid without users' knowledge.'

The police, who received a report of damage and caught the culprit after 8 months of investigation, said, "I assumed it was the work of an organization with a hacker or a conspirator inside the bank, but it was an ordinary man's single crime."

Police followed the IP for a long time after the incident, and all IPs pointed to Falseti's home.

Police raided his home and confiscated Falseti's notebook as a compelling evidence.

The 32-page notebook contained the secret of his credit card number, revealing the method of the crime he had committed.

Falseti's notebook was full of his own formulas such as "2 and ○2 are repeated every ○○, after adding ○○○~", which solves the algorithm of credit card number and security code (CVC) It was a way to pay.

The algorithm he came up with is a formula that gives a card number when a specific bank issues a card.

Most overseas sites allow payment with just a credit card number and CVC code, so the man boldly used someone else's card.

An investigative official said, "Falceti did not use a computer and solved the complex algorithm only with his head. Although he is a criminal, his intellectual ability was admirable."

Prosecutors will indict Palsetti on charges of credit card theft and fraud.
