Sultan Al Qasimi attends the activities of the first forum of the Sharjah Education Academy

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, witnessed this morning at the Sharjah Education Academy the launch of the Academy's first educational forum, which is held under the title "The future of education between opportunities and challenges".

Before the start of the forum, His Highness was briefed on a number of innovative projects for students of the distinguished schools of Sharjah.

Then the activities of the forum began with a visual presentation on the progress of the Sharjah Education Academy and its various achievements, including pioneering programmes, activities and initiatives, in addition to the number of beneficiaries of the activities and the most prominent results.

Developing the educational system -


Dr. Jenin Romano, Executive Director of the Sharjah Education Academy, gave a speech in which she stressed the importance of the first educational forum organized by the Academy, based on its important mission to qualify teachers and develop the educational system.

Dr. Janine Romano addressed the programs included in the forum through main sessions and accompanying workshops dealing with a number of important themes that contribute to the study of the educational environment and help prepare it for a better future.

Then Dr. Muhadtha Al Hashemi, President of the Sharjah Education Academy and Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, gave a speech in which she addressed the experience of private education in the Emirate of Sharjah during the pandemic and working to shift towards sustainable education and towards schools that are more flexible and able to keep pace with all developments and changes.

Dr. Paul Lomayo explained the importance of searching for reasons around the level of the learning system and setting strategies and theories to develop them, pointing out the importance of drawing ideas from the environment itself, as some solutions do not suit different environments.

Dr. Anthony Brik, the former president of the Carnegie Institution for the Development of Education, gave a speech in which he spoke about his experience in the process of developing education in Chicago by working to know and understand the reasons for the low level of the educational environment, conducting research and developing proposals to develop it until the education system reached an advanced level at all educational levels.

Dr. Anthony Brik dealt with statistics and indicators of educational growth in which all parties of the educational system participated, including teachers, students and parents, and pointed to the basic principles and paths of development, which are focus on the problem and the beneficiary, attention to variance and differences, vision and application of the system, organization in the form of community learning units, and learning Through questioning and inquiry, and attention to management.

Through remote visual communication, Dr. Timothy Knowles, President of the Carnegie Institution for Education Development, spoke about the future of education and rebuilding it from inside the classroom, pointing to the importance of the role of parents in stimulating and improving the learning environment for children, as well as the role of the teacher and educational leaders in improving teaching and learning processes.

Student Abdullah Al Kaabi from Victoria International School in Mleiha had a speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his support of his students and for providing the best schools and means of education in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Al Kaabi spoke about his experience at Victoria International School and the various educational methods that contributed to the development of his diverse skills such as writing and reading.


Student Ahmed Al Marzouqi from Sharjah American International School also gave a speech in which he spoke about his experience at the Sharjah Education Academy through training courses, which enriched his knowledge and experience according to high scientific and professional standards.

Al Marzouqi expressed his thanks to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for the pioneering educational opportunities he provided to his children in various educational institutions and for his continuous support to them in order to raise the level of their students.

The forum will discuss several main themes: Quality and progress in education: addressing the gaps, the main components of creativity and innovation to build the future of education, learning communities for sustainable improvement, restructuring education and its policies after the pandemic, quality and care of students and educational challenges. after the pandemic.

More than 30 leading educational institutions and prestigious universities, including the University of Helsinki, Monash University, Harvard University, the International Baccalaureate, school development institutions, including ACER, Cambridge, a group of distinguished schools in the Emirates, and more than 200 educational development experts and leaders will participate in the forum. .

During the forum ceremony, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah inaugurated the Sharjah Education Platform, which is the modern digital platform of the Sharjah Education Academy, which provides many educational advantages and characteristics in support of digital transformation and for learners to benefit more from its services in all their regions.

On the sidelines of the forum, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Sharjah Education Academy and the Carnegie Foundation for the Development of Education, signed by Dr. Muhadtha Al Hashemi, President of the Sharjah Education Academy, and Dr. Paul Lomayo, Senior Vice President of the Carnegie Corporation.

The agreement aims to cooperate in a number of areas, including: joint work in school improvement methodologies appropriate to the environment of the Sharjah Education Academy, the Emirate of Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to engaging in strategies that promote the use of networked education improvement sciences by adapting their methodologies to the educational mission and objectives of the Emirate Sharjah, and facilitating participatory activities to enhance teaching, learning and assessment practices in schools.
