Europe's largest land-based wind farm is being built outside Piteå.

350 spinners are built in Markbygden and there are just as many more left.

- The first thing we found when they had built 36 works is that the encroachment on nature is so infinitely greater than we could have imagined in advance.

It does not work to conduct reindeer husbandry as we did before, says Östra Kikkejaure's chairman Johan Lundgren.

The Sami village thinks that they have a good dialogue with the wind power company that is building the park.

The company Svevind will not build as many as they are allowed to, as today's wind turbines are more efficient than before.

And after a government decision to allow the park, the Sami village and the company have an agreement.

- We have a good dialogue and with the agreement we have ensured that we can conduct reindeer husbandry, that we have compensatory measures that make it possible to continue with our business.

We can cope with bad grazing at the beginning of the year.

The total effects that are the problem

The Sami village chairman believes that the problem often does not consist of a single intrusion, but that it is about the combined effects of several different intrusions.

- When we have to negotiate with each individual developer about each individual intrusion, it looks so small on the map, and the actor says "this small area can not do anything, you can be somewhere else."

But when you put the puzzle together with everything that affects us, a small intervention can make it impossible for us to conduct reindeer husbandry, says Johan Lundgren.

Johan Lundgren would like to see the state take a holistic approach to the entire reindeer husbandry area, with the help of, among others, the Swedish Sami National Association and the Sami Parliament.

- What should we be prepared to endure and what is possible?

You have to make a choice.

Should we exploit the whole of Norrland to cope with the green transition?

"No more can come here"

In the four northernmost counties, there are just over 2,000 of Sweden's 4,700 wind turbines.

Västernorrland is the county with the most wind turbines, just over 600 built spins.

Marianne Gråik's Sami village Jijnjevaerie has about ten larger wind farms on the Sami village's reindeer pastures in Jämtland / Västernorrland.

- I think it must mean southern Sweden when it comes to expansion, because here it can not come more.

Is not a green transition needed for the climate?

- It is not green when you turn healthy nature into gravel fields.

I want to see a development towards us living more frugally because right now it is a populist green transition, that people should be allowed to consume exactly as they have always done but with a green touch.
