With our correspondent in Vilnius,

Music, music and more music.

The Pride march was very rhythmic.

But behind the balloons and the party, the message is there.

LGBT+ communities

in the Baltic countries want more equality.

Elzbieta Latenaite is a committed Lithuanian actress.

These are still only the very beginnings of equality.

A bill for a civil union has been submitted to Parliament.

This is the first step that has just been taken, because until now there was absolutely none for our community

, ”she says.

In Latvia, the Parliament rejected a few days ago the law for the establishment of a civil union pact.

The young Dace made the trip, she does not want to give up.

“

There is only one party that opposed this in parliament.

We have elections in the fall and we can hope that more young people will vote to support the values they believe in

,” she says.

The first pride march took place in Vilnius 12 years ago.

The participants were parked behind railings.

Today they marched on the main avenue of the Lithuanian capital.

But they expect even more.

Until now, going to court was the only way for them to defend their rights.
