US President Joe Biden was evacuated after a private aircraft entered a restricted-fly zone while enjoying a holiday at his vacation home.

The White House Secret Service said in a statement that "a privately owned aircraft entered the restricted area over Rehoboth, Delaware after it entered the security area."

The Bidens were staying at their Rehoboth Beach vacation home over the weekend.

The White House and the Security Service said that the Bidens had been evacuated from their villa for a while and returned after evaluating the situation.

The White House said there was no threat to President Biden and his family.

The White House Security Service investigation revealed that the pilot of the aircraft did not have an appropriate radio channel and did not follow flight instructions.

When the president travels outside of Washington DC, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issues standard guidelines along with no-fly zones, restrictions that include a ban on flying within a 10-mile radius of the president's residence.

Federal regulations require aircraft pilots to check restricted flight zones for their routes before takeoff.
