When do drug abusers escape criminal proceedings?

The General Command of the Fujairah Police, through an awareness campaign published on its social media channels, revealed the cases in which no criminal case has been filed against drug and psychotropic users. 

The cases are when the addict submits a request for treatment on his own or from his spouse or a relative of the second degree, and in the second case, if the request is submitted to the addiction treatment unit, the Public Prosecution or the police, and the third is if the addict surrenders his possessions of narcotic substances Finally, adherence to the treatment plan. 

The General Command of the Fujairah Police called upon everyone who fell into the clutches of drugs to communicate with the Anti-Narcotics Department for treatment in complete secrecy and to benefit from the text of Article (43) of Federal Law No. (14) of 1995, to combat narcotics and psychotropic substances, which states ("No The criminal case against the abuse of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, if the abuser, his spouse, or one of his relatives up to the second degree, submits a request to the addiction treatment unit, the Public Prosecution, or the police, requesting his deposit for treatment with the unit, and he is deposited with the unit until the unit decides to release him) .

She stressed the need not to respond to social media channels that seek to promote drugs, and the importance of families following up on their children's behavior to protect them from bad companions, such as returning home at late times, and investing summer vacation in useful practices and hobbies, noting that it implements activities and programs through channels and media platforms. Social communication, radio and television, through which it educates families and the local community, with the aim of enhancing community awareness of the causes, negative effects of drugs and the severe consequences of drug abuse and its effects on the health of the addict.
