TikTok is testing a new feature that is expected to impress many users of the application, as it confirmed to TechCrunch that the new feature called "Clear Mode" is currently under testing with select users.

Clear Mode gets rid of all the clutter that appears on the screen, such as captions and buttons, when viewing content on the app.

The new setting was spotted by users, and highlighted by social media consultant Matt Navarra on Twitter.

And screenshots posted by users show that once you activate Clear Mode, you won't see usernames, annotations, audio information, etc.

In some cases, it seems that you can get rid of the like, comment and share buttons as well in order to have a completely distraction-free viewing experience.

Users who are part of the test and have access to Clear Mode will see the option when they tap and hold on the screen.

Once you do this, the Clear Mode setting will appear under the Add to Favorites button in the menu.

Clicking that will launch a distraction-free viewing experience.

If the new feature is fully rolled out, it could be a welcome addition for those who want to eliminate on-screen clutter and focus solely on the content they're watching.

The mode can also be useful in cases where usernames and captions end up covering important parts of the video.

TikTok said it doesn't have much to share in testing at this time, given that "clear mode" is undergoing limited testing, and it is not known when or if the company plans to roll it out more widely.

The company is currently testing a number of new changes to its platform, as it was recently revealed that it is investing more in HTML5 games.

It appears that Tik Tok is also working on a live feature for mobile games that will allow creators to better engage fans while broadcasting.

The company has also begun testing a way for users to mark comments they think are irrelevant or inappropriate via a special dislike button.

Once a user dislikes a comment, the dislike will not be posted publicly, and commenters will not be notified that their comment has been disapproved.
