End clap for the Ecuries de Grambois (Vaucluse).

The equestrian center located in the town since 2019 is subject to an administrative closure decided by the prefecture of the department, reports

La Provence

.

In question: the location of the equestrian center.

It is indeed in a forest massif placed "in the red zone of the Forest Fire Risk Prevention Plan (PPRIF)", explains the press release from the prefecture dated this Wednesday.

In 1991, a huge fire destroyed 1,800 hectares in this area.

The public exposed to the risk of fire

Due to its presence in this “particularly fire-sensitive area”, the equestrian center has received numerous injunctions since 2019 to move.

Despite this, the operators continued to develop the site's activities "by expanding their facilities without authorisation, leading to a constant increase in site visits".

Due to the risk run by the public attending the equestrian center, its administrative closure has been decided.

Horse and pony owners still have six weeks to find a new boarding solution for their animals, the prefecture said.
