At the beginning of his life, Sabri worked as a broadcaster on the English-speaking Egyptian radio, then went to the cinema, starring in the movie “Search for a Scandal” with the artist Adel Imam, and “A Case of Public Opinion” with Mervat Amin, then he continued his artistic career until his total films reached 138 films, and about 40 A television series, 11 radio series, three plays, and six programs, most notably “The International Club” and “This Evening,” according to his documented biography.

Journalist Mansour Al-Hamidi said that "the (International Club) program is considered to a large extent the (Talk Show) program before this type of program appeared in the Arab media, and Samir Sabry presented in the program, in which Salma Al-Shamma and Farida Al-Zumar participated, distinguished episodes, including An episode about the Tutankhamun exhibition in London, where it was opened by the Queen of Britain, a dialogue with the former British Foreign Minister, David Hume, and conversations with Abdel Halim Hafez and Souad Hosni, but the most controversial episode in the history of the program is the one in which he met the Egyptian spy who ruled She was sentenced to death and then was pardoned, Anshirah Moussa, and (the International Club) was the first Egyptian television program to take place outside the studios.

Al-Hamidi added that “the international club program almost stopped completely due to a political crisis, in which Samir Sabry was not a party, as the program hosted the dancer Fifi Abdo, who when Sabri asked her about her country and where she lived, she replied that she came from (Mitt Abu al-Kom), which happened to be The country of the late President Anwar Sadat, so an immediate order was issued to stop the program after broadcasting the episode, for what was considered an unpopular link.

It is noteworthy that the artist Samir Sabry denied, before his death, with the late journalist Wael Al-Ibrashi, in an interview with the "Ninth" program on the Egyptian Channel 1, that this matter was the reason for stopping the program, stressing that it was just an argument.

"The reason for canceling the program was not the famous sentence that the artist, Fifi Abdo, said, but this sentence was exploited," Sabry told El-Ibrashi in the interview.

After the recording of the episode ended, and realizing that this phrase might cause problems, I asked to delete it, but this did not happen, whether in good faith or in bad faith, and that the late President Anwar Sadat personally verified this matter and ended with no intention and ordered the program to be returned.

He added, "The important dialogue that Samir Sabry had with the Egyptian spy, Inshirah, who was recruited and her husband, were arrested and sentenced to death in 1974, and the sentence was executed by her husband while she was out in a prisoner exchange deal. It was one of the most prominent media stations in Sabry's history, especially as it It took place during the intensification of the war between Egypt and Israel.”
