Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev announced that Washington's decision to deliver Kyiv long-range missile launchers threatens Russian security.

Medvedev said - in an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera that will be broadcast later - that if these missiles target Russian territory, Russia will have no choice but to target decision-making centers in Ukraine.

He said that the chances of a solution in Ukraine through negotiations are dwindling, and accused the United States and Western countries of influencing Kyiv's decision to continue negotiations.

Medvedev said that Moscow would continue its own military operation, which would result in Ukraine losing additional territory.

The deputy head of the Russian National Security Council added that the world has actually changed, after Russia launched its own operation in Ukraine.

In his interview with Al Jazeera, he said that the Russian military operation should eventually lead to the emergence of what he called "a new architecture for global security."
