The County Administrative Board was able to confirm eight wolf territories in Västmanland with around 40 individuals in its most recent inventory in 2021.
The presence of wolves is also seen in wildlife sightings reported by the public.
During the past year, around 200 safe wolf sightings in Västmanland were reported to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's database Rovbase.
