“Japan and the United States are considering plans to intervene in the Taiwan issue by military means, so the PLA will conduct more exercises, taking into account the worst-case scenario,” the expert said.
He also clarified that the Chinese army recently conducted large-scale exercises in the area of the island of Taiwan.
“This has been a rarity in recent years,” the military specialist concluded.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said that the United States expects serious consequences in connection with the encouragement of separatism in Taiwan by the US authorities.
Prior to this, Liu Pengyu, spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in the United States, stressed that the Chinese authorities would not compromise or make concessions on the Taiwan issue.
