The power of the people has won in 12 places including Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Daejeon, Incheon, Ulsan, Sejong Market, Gangwon, Chungcheong, South and North Gyeongsang Provinces.



It is a landslide victory with nine more places compared to the result of only three, including Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong, who was elected as an independent four years ago.

In the mayor of Seoul, Candidate Oh Se-hoon consistently outpaced Candidate Song Young-gil, confirming the election early.



In Incheon, Candidate Jeong-bok Yoo blasphemed for defeat four years ago in a rematch against Candidate Nam-chun Park.



Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongsangnam-do, where the Democratic Party won its first ever victories in the last election, returned to the power of the people again.



For Busan mayor, Park Hyung-joon easily defeated Byun Seong-wan, and in Ulsan, Kim Doo-gyeom defeated Song Cheol-ho.



Candidate Park Wan-su also outperformed Yang Moon-seok in the Gyeongnam governor election.



In the Chungcheong area, which has been called the weather vane of the people, the power of the people swept all four places for the first time.



In Daejeon, Candidate Lee Jang-woo defeated Candidate Huh Tae-jung in a close battle, and in Sejong, Candidate Choi Min-ho defeated Hyun Mayor Lee Chun-hee.



In Chungnam, candidate Kim Tae-heum defeated incumbent governor Yang Seung-jo, and in Chungcheongbuk-do, candidate Kim Young-hwan defeated candidate Noh Young-min.



In Daegu, Gyeongbuk and Gangwon, the People's Power candidate also won splendid victories.



The Democratic Party has won the traditional strongholds of Gwangju and North Jeolla Province and reclaimed Jeju.



In the Gyeonggi Governor Election, the biggest battleground, Candidate Dong-yeon Kim, who had been playing hard throughout the ballot count, succeeded in a comeback at the last minute, beating out Candidate Eun-hye Kim by a narrow margin.
