The Andalusian Electoral Board has decided to respect the composition of the debates to six with the main candidates for the Andalusian elections, including Teresa Rodríguez, as both Canal Sur and TVE had proposed within their coverage plan for the 19J campaign.

The resolution, advanced this morning by the body that arbitrates the electoral call, is a severe setback for Por Andalucía and Andaluces Levantaos, the two leftist coalitions that had appealed the proposals of the public channels questioning in both cases the presence of Teresa Rodríguez.

The decision of the Electoral Board of Andalusia has been a surprise given that the same body ruled against the interests of the candidacy of Teresa Rodríguez in the distribution of the funds advanced by the Parliament on account of the subsidies that the parties that obtain representation in the Autonomous Chamber.

On that occasion, the Electoral Board resolved that Adelante Andalucía is not the legitimate heir to the electoral rights of the former Adelante Andalucía (version 2018) and, therefore, could not claim funding based on its parliamentary representation.

It could be assumed that the Electoral Board would apply the same criteria to decide which political force has the right and which does not to participate in debates on public television.

This was deduced by Andalusia (We can + IU + More Country + Andalusian People's Initiative + Equo + Green Alliance) and also Andalusians Rise up.

The candidate for Por Andalucía, Inmaculada NIeto, is invited to participate in the debates, but her formation sought the exclusion of Teresa Rodríguez.

The latter, led by Modesto González, are not because they did not have parliamentary representation in the last legislature, but they demanded the same treatment that the television stations had given Teresa Rodríguez.

The conflict makes it clear how the wounds are still open in the Andalusian left, since the three coalitions involved were called at some point to participate in a common front to recover steam and combat the demobilization of their electorate, being the line that Minister Yolanda Díaz is trying to score ahead of the next general election.

But that broad consensus was not possible and was reduced to IU, Más País, Equo and the Andalusian People's Initiative, to which

in extremis,

and already out of time, Podemos and Alianza Verde joined.

Teresa Rodríguez had lamented the maneuver of her former partners from IU and Podemos in relation to the debates on public channels.

Her exclusion, in her opinion, would only cause the left to lose screen share in news slots against the PSOE and the right.
