“In Slavyansk, Donetsk People’s Republic, in the building of a professional machine-building lyceum (Koltsevaya St.), nationalists equipped firing positions, artillery pieces and MLRS were placed in the courtyard,” the statement reads.
The department noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are purposefully shelling the positions of the Russian Armed Forces from residential areas, provoking them to return fire.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov earlier in an interview with the French TV channel TF1 said that the Ukrainian army and the militants of the national battalions use civilians as human shields.
According to the head of the National Defense Control Center of Russia, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, Ukrainian military and foreign mercenaries are located in a kindergarten and a school in the village of Bakhmut in the DPR.
