my country insists that the goal of 30 million people to get rid of poverty in the whole year will not be shaken

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, June 1 (Reporter Hou Xuejing) Liu Huanxin, director of the National Rural Revitalization Bureau, said that it is necessary to promote the implementation of various measures to consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation as soon as possible, minimize the impact of the epidemic, and take effective measures to ensure that the country's poverty-stricken people will be employed this year. The scale is stable at more than 30 million people. It is necessary to adhere to the established goals and tasks, and the overall work arrangement and deployment will not change. Do everything possible to ensure the completion of the annual goals and tasks.

Liu Huanxin made the above statement at the video conference of the National Rural Revitalization Bureau held recently.

Liu Huanxin said that it is the primary responsibility and bottom-line task of the rural revitalization system to consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation and firmly hold the bottom line of not returning to poverty on a large scale.

In 2021, the proportion of the income of the people out of poverty will be close to 70%, and jobs will be stabilized, employment will be achieved, and there will be solid support to prevent poverty from returning to poverty.

As of the end of May this year, 31.33 million people had been lifted out of poverty (including those targeted for prevention of returning to poverty), completing 103.8% of the annual target.

The meeting pointed out that while seeing the achievements, it is necessary to clearly realize that due to the impact of the new round of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and changes in the international situation, the downward pressure on my country's economy has increased, and the pressure on the poverty-stricken labor force to stabilize employment has increased. The ability to increase income has weakened, and the difficulties and challenges faced by consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation have increased significantly.

The meeting emphasized that it is necessary to carry out in-depth dynamic monitoring and assistance to prevent returning to poverty, and to give full play to the role of public welfare posts and assistance workshops in attracting employment.

For the poverty-stricken laborers who have returned to their hometowns, a tracking service mechanism will be established to implement the responsibility for assistance.

It is necessary to strengthen industrial support, increase the proportion of central connection funds used in industries, and ensure that it reaches more than 55% this year. Focus on supporting the development of industries that lead to agricultural enrichment with agriculture, and promote the continuous increase of income of the people who have been lifted out of poverty and the monitoring objects.

Liu Huanxin said that since the beginning of this year, the central government has introduced a series of policies and measures focusing on "keeping the bottom line, grasping development, and promoting revitalization". All localities should combine the previous and this time's policies and measures to implement them to ensure solid results.

The National Rural Development Bureau will continue to carry out monitoring and dispatch to respond to the impact of the epidemic, organize unannounced visits and investigations in a timely manner, and report areas with outstanding problems.

The work of local governments to respond to the impact of the epidemic and promote the consolidation and expansion of poverty alleviation achievements will be an important part of the assessment and evaluation of the effective connection between the consolidation and expansion of poverty alleviation results and rural revitalization in 2022.
