As China tries to strengthen its influence on the island nations of the Pacific Ocean, the Liberal Democratic Party says that Japan should also strengthen its ties with the island nations in order to protect the order of the Indo-Pacific region, such as supporting climate change measures. It was decided to proceed with the examination.

China has signed a security agreement with the Solomon Islands over the island nations of the Pacific Ocean, and Foreign Minister Wang Yi is moving to strengthen his influence by visiting each country and holding a foreign ministers' meeting.

If the LDP overlooks China's movements, it raises security concerns in the Indo-Pacific region, and Japan should strengthen its ties with the island nations in order to maintain order in the region. It was decided to establish and consider measures to strengthen support for each country.

Among these are support for climate change countermeasures faced by island nations such as rising sea levels, technical cooperation for improving maritime security capabilities, and the involvement of island nations in the IPEF = Indo-Pacific economic framework that the United States is calling for. It is expected to be an issue.

The Liberal Democratic Party intends to put together a proposal by around autumn and encourage the government to realize it.
