Interpol: A large amount of weapons sent to Ukraine will end up in the hands of criminals

INTERPOL Secretary General Jürgen Stock has confirmed that a large number of weapons sent to Ukraine will end up in the hands of criminals in Europe and abroad, suggesting that these weapons, including heavy weapons, will be redirected to the European Union by criminals.

And Stock said, during a conference held by the "Anglo-American Foundation" in the French capital, Paris, today, Wednesday, that a large number of weapons that are sent to Ukraine, "will end up in the hands of criminals in Europe and abroad," adding: "The large abundance of weapons in the current conflict will lead to the proliferation of illegal weapons in the post-conflict period," according to the French newspaper "Le Figaro".

Stock suggested that the European Union would be "a potential destination for these weapons, because the prices of firearms on the black market are very high in Europe, especially in Scandinavian countries," stressing that criminals have already begun to seek access to these weapons.

"Even weapons used by the military and heavy weapons will be available in the crime market," the official warned.
