WSJ: US may transfer MLRS with missiles with a range of more than 60 km to Ukraine

As stated in the newspaper article, this system can become one of the most long-range weapons at the disposal of the Ukrainian army.

At the same time, Washington believes that these systems will not allow the Ukrainian military to strike at targets deep in the Russian regions, which will reduce the risks of a direct confrontation between Russia and the United States, RIA Novosti reports. 

The article also says that the GMLRS MLRS is approximately twice as long as the American M777 howitzers transferred to Ukraine earlier.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov said that Russia expects that the United States will not take such a provocative step as the supply of multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine, as this could lead to an escalation of the conflict. 

According to him, according to the American media, Washington may transfer MLRS HIMARS and M270 MLRS to Kyiv.

On May 30, Reuters reported, US President Joe Biden said the United States would not supply Ukraine with missile systems capable of reaching Russian territory.
