At the same time, he emphasized, "If the airport function is also integrated into Incheon, the efficiency will increase."

Regarding 'concerns about the deterioration of the economy of Jeju' that came from not only the power of the people, but also within the party, he pointed out, "If you take off from Gimpo, Jeju tourism goes well, and if you take off from Incheon, Jeju tourism doesn't work.

Chairman Lee said that if the GTX-D route is built and directly connected to Incheon International Airport, the additional time required is only about 10 minutes.

Also, he said, "There are direct flights when (foreign tourists) go to Jeju, but most of them go through Incheon Airport." He said, "It takes a lot less time to go to Jeju directly from Incheon Airport than to get off at Incheon Airport and go to Gimpo Airport to change planes.
