Hear the CEO about why they choose to establish themselves in Trollhättan.

The German company Hellma minerals is now investing just over SEK 200 million in a new facility in Trollhättan.

The company, which has operations in both Germany and the United States, said that access to energy in Sweden was absolutely crucial.

In Germany, energy in particular has become a scarce commodity because it has previously relied on imports of Russian gas.

Used in the automotive industry

Hellma minerals produces calcium fluoride crystals, a product that is used when manufacturing semiconductor components, which in turn are used in, among other things, the automotive industry.

In recent years, a huge shortage of semiconductors has developed, something that has forced car factories to close for periods.

Hellma minerals expects that the first crystal will leave the Stallbacka area in Trollhättan during the second half of 2023. A total of about 20 people will be employed in the first phase and more investments are planned in the coming years.
