China News Service, May 31. According to Agence France-Presse and Reuters, on the 30th local time, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a bill to limit the ownership of handguns, which will ban the import, sale and transportation of handguns nationwide.

"In other words, we're limiting the handgun market," Trudeau said.

The legislation, which was introduced in the wake of multiple mass shootings in the United States, has been submitted to Parliament by the federal government, the report said.

The bill is expected to be passed in Parliament as the Liberal Party and the NDP form a coalition in the House of Representatives with a majority in parliamentary votes.
