For eight years, center-right Madelaine Jakobsson has ruled Nordmaling, most recently with the Moderates and Christian Democrats.

Now she is standing for another four years.

In Nordmaling, the parties agree on most things.

The quarrel from the past is gone and the division that previously existed within the Social Democrats has ceased.

The breakaways who formed the "Free Democrats" are closing down their activities ahead of this year's election.

Many of the leading politicians have gone to the Left Party.

The issue of healthcare divides the parties

Today, approximately 7,000 people live in Nordmaling.

Both the Center Party and the Social Democrats want to start housing construction so that immigration to the municipality increases.

The municipality must also become more attractive, according to both parties.

But an issue that divides the parties is the privatization of the home care service in the municipality.

- We believe in freedom of choice, that it also exists in the smaller municipality, it is important, says Madelaine Jakobsson (C) municipal councilor.

- Today we have a private and municipal home service that is about the same size.

For us, the private home care service must go away, close down.

It is an ideological issue, says Grethel Broman (S), group leader.
