According to RIA Novosti, the text of the interview with Nazarbayev was published on his Telegram channel by Kazakh political scientist Daniyar Ashimbayev.
“Yes, on June 5 I will definitely use my right given to me by the Constitution and take part in voting at the referendum,” Nazarbayev said.
According to him, "all these years" he supported the actions of the current president of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to reform and further develop the republic.
“You can rest assured that I will support this time as well,” he said.
Earlier, Tokayev scheduled a referendum on amendments to the republic's Constitution for June 5.
