This is stated in the message on the website of the Cabinet.

Quotas will be valid until July 31st.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, when exporting metal in the amount of up to 540 thousand tons, the duty will be €100 per ton, and if this figure is exceeded, €290 per ton.

“It is important that the established volume of the tariff quota (up to 540 thousand tons) is differentiated by regions, taking into account their industrial specifics, and the mechanism for distributing the tariff quota provides for the possibility of exporting scrap metal that is not in demand among the backbone organizations of the Russian economy,” the government explained.

It is noted that duties will only apply to exports outside the Eurasian Economic Union.

The Cabinet explained that this decision is aimed at preventing price increases in the domestic market, as well as meeting the needs of Russian metallurgical enterprises in raw materials.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia proposed to increase the quota for the export of sunflower oil and meal until August 31.
