The alarm about the fire came at 18.21 on Monday night.
- It is a car that has started to burn, we have no idea why, says Henrik De Woon-Thoren, officer on duty at Södertörn's rescue service.
He says that some road workers noticed the fire and extinguished it with a powder extinguisher.
The rescue service is on site for follow-up.
According to the Swedish Transport Administration, the accident has a major impact on traffic and it is estimated that there will be limited traffic until 7.30 pm.
The driver must have gotten out of the car.
