During the period of the Corona pandemic, the population of the US state of California decreased to an unprecedented rate for the first time in history, and has now reached about 39 million.

Given the rising cost of living, the spread of fires, and the lack of water, many Californians relocated to other parts of the United States, but others decided to move to other parts of the world.

The most important of these places is Portugal.

Americans are now among the fastest growing groups moving to Portugal, with Californians making up a growing part of the Portuguese population, which has courted the world's citizens to boost its economy since the global economic crisis.

Portugal is now home to a thriving tourism industry, and ranks among the top destinations for those looking to work remotely or retired.

Major Portuguese cities are facing some of the same problems as California, with rising house rents and housing crises.

But Portugal is too cheap for Americans, whose income is many times that of the average Portuguese worker.

The Los Angeles Times interviewed Californians who had moved to Portugal and asked them about their experiences, and their views on what life was like in their new home.

A California resident who lives in Portugal, who specializes in psychology, said he loves Portugal for many reasons, including the good climate, its wonderful nature, and most importantly, the community that makes you feel like you're still in California.

He added that he pays less than half of his salary in the United States to live here.

Another young American, who works in the Internet, said that during the height of the Corona pandemic in 2021, he left his job and decided to travel to Portugal.

At this time, he had worked in a technology company for several years, gained a lot of experience, and started providing consulting services.

Hence he started his own company.

He added that there is a lot of support for such projects in Portugal.

And California provides a lot of support for such companies, but he did not expect Portugal to be a great competition.
