It all started in the 8th arrondissement on Sunday around 2 a.m., when agents from the DOPC (Public Order and Traffic Department) ordered a vehicle to stop.

But the driver refuses, rushes towards the police, without touching them, and flees.

A fatal escape for a 24-year-old young woman who was crossing at that time at the pedestrian crossing at Quai de la Mégisserie (1st arrondissement) and who was violently hit by the driver, leaving her no chance.

"The victim died on the spot," said the police source.

The two occupants of the car arrested

The driver was then chased by DOPC bikers, before hitting another vehicle, forcing him to stop.

The passenger flees on foot, but is finally arrested by the police, which will also be the case for the driver.

An investigation has been opened, the police source said.
