Travel center in Uppsala cordoned off - suspicious object found

The alarm about the suspected object came in to the police at twenty past two on Sunday.

- It was a security guard who contacted us that the suspected dangerous object had been found.

We go there, block off, evacuate and request a traffic stop.

That is where we are now, says police spokesman Tobias Ahlén Svalbro.

Large area cordoned off

A barrier of about 100 meters in all directions has been set up, according to the police.

- So it is a fairly large area, says Tobias Ahlén Svalbro.

The national bomb squad has been contacted to make an assessment of the object.
