Legislative elections: "Eric Zemmour is not God", quips Jordan Bardella

"Eric Zemmour, it's not God", quipped Sunday the acting president of the National Rally (RN), Jordan Bardella, accused by relatives of the former presidential candidate, including Marion Maréchal, of looking for his downfall in a difficult legislative constituency.

"He doesn't happen in a constituency (where) everyone withdraws, the ocean opens up, everyone has to let him pass and he goes through the middle. Politics doesn't work like that," he said. the RN leader in the program Dimanche en politique on France 3.

The RN accused of campaigning against Reconquest!

Éric Zemmour has decided to embark on the battle for the legislative elections in the 4th district of Var, where he signed one of his best scores in the presidential election (14.7%).

However, he will have a hard time dealing with the RN candidate Philippe Lottiaux and the outgoing macronist Sereine Mauborgne.

The latter was elected in 2017 with 55% of the votes in the second round against the same Philippe Lottiaux.

In a tweet on Friday, Marion Maréchal accused the RN of deliberately campaigning against Reconquest! candidates, notably Éric Zemmour, rather than against those of the majority.

She was reacting to a move by Jordan Bardella on the field, alongside Éric Zemmour's RN opponent.

There are 577 constituencies, I see that for the RN the priority is to come and fight the battle on those of @ZemmourEric or @stanislasrig but not those of Danièle Obono or Gérald Darmanin.

We definitely don't have the same priorities.

"We have to stop whining, crying"

The current acting president of the RN replied that "we have candidates who have been fighting on the ground for months, years (...) When someone arrives from Paris, we cannot tell him on the grounds that it's Éric Zemmour, 'come on sir!'".

"They come from the 16th arrondissement of Paris in lands where Marine Le Pen won 50, 55, 57% of the votes in the second round of the presidential election", he supported.

"We have to stop whining, crying," he added.

'I don't want to kill anyone, I want to save France.'

Jordan Bardella has, moreover, refused to project himself on the presidential election of 2027, while Marine Le Pen could no longer represent himself.

"I don't think about it while shaving in front of the mirror in the morning," he said, in an allusion to Nicolas Sarkozy, who had confessed the opposite in 2003.
