Last year, Ölyckeskolan had the worst grade results in Eslöv among the nines - overall, the entire municipality had a decline in grade results - but Ölyckeskolan stands out.

Only 55 percent of the students achieved the knowledge requirements in all subjects.

A dip that can partly be explained by the pandemic but also by many changes of principal and teacher.

The results are rising

- It affects all the way down in the organization.

We have many teachers who are still there and who have done a great job, but it is clear that when the principal is changed all the time, it gets messy, says Anna Jaxelius who is a relatively new principal at the school.

This year, it looks like the results are on the rise.

After the autumn term, well over 80 percent had passed the knowledge requirements in all subjects - an average that seems to be raised further in the spring.

Lower admission points on vocational lines

But at Ölyckeskolan, it is sometimes a challenge that many of the students are bomb-proof of what they will be when they grow up.

- We have students who come already in the seventh grade and know that they are going to drive a truck.

It's cool that they are so determined, says Anna Jaxelius.

At the same time, she says that it can lead to many people becoming a little relaxed in relation to school - that the vocational preparation programs often have lower credit points and that the students do not make as much effort as they have the capacity for.

"Not important with good grades"

Nicole Eriksson has dreamed of driving a truck since she was 10 years old - and is sure of her high school choice.

- Grades are important for those who want to enter lines that require high merit points.

But for me who is going to transport with low points, it is not important to have good grades, she says.
