On Tuesday, Turkey presented a list of requirements for approving Sweden's NATO membership.

Among other things, the country demands the abolition of support for Kurdish groups that Turkey considers to be terrorists, but which in Sweden have been seen as freedom fighters.

Trust the Prime Minister

Is there any point Sweden can back down or compromise on?

- Negotiations are now underway.

I fully trust that Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson will take Sweden into NATO and at the same time not disappoint the Kurds along this journey, says Member of Parliament Gulan Avci (L).

"Unreasonable demands"

But is it possible?

- The list that Erdogan has where it demands that parliamentarians in Sweden and Swedish citizens be expelled from the country - these are completely unreasonable demands.

We have a constitution, we are a state governed by the rule of law, we are a democracy, we do not extradite either Swedish parliamentarians or citizens to other countries.

Kurdo Baksi, debater and author, for his part, believes that Sweden should temporarily withdraw its NATO application.

- Sweden must learn to be aggressive towards Erdogan, because that is the only language he understands, he says.
