- We have seen better results year after year, but in 2021 something happened, says Johan Andersson (S) about Eslövniorna's knowledge requirements.

Only 68.5 percent achieved the knowledge requirements in all subjects among those who finished ninth in the municipality.

A result that places the municipality in 25th place out of Skåne's 32 municipalities.

"Poorer environment at home can affect"

- It may be the pandemic that has hit hard on the students who have a little tougher at home, says Johan Andersson (S).

Many of the students' parents have no or low education in Eslöv and find it difficult to help with school work at home.

During the time when the students were transferred to distance learning, it may have provided worse conditions to cope with the school requirements, according to the municipal council.

Spends less money

In 2020, Eslöv paid SEK 108,200 per student, well below the national average of SEK 118,200.

Despite the fact that according to the Education Act, differences in socio-economic and educational background among students must be compensated for:

- We are not behind if you only look at the teaching, but we have cheaper premises.

Then we have more efficiency per krona if you compare with, for example, Lund municipality, says Johan Andersson (S).
