At the Cannes Film Festival, director Chan-wook Park won the Best Director award for the movie 'The Decision to Break Up', and actor Kang-ho Song won the Best Actor Award for 'The Broker'.

This is the first time that two Korean films have won awards at the same time.

Two Korean films won the Cannes Film Festival competition for the first time at the same time.



The main characters were two 'men of Khan'.



Director Park Chan-wook won the Best Director award for the suspenseful melodrama 'Decision to break up' starring Hae-il Park and Wei Tang.

Director Park Chan-wook won the Jury Prize for 'Oldboy' in 2004 .

This is the third time after receiving the Jury Award for 'Bat' in 2009.



It is also the second best director award for a Korean director after Im Kwon-taek won the Best Director award for 'Chwihwaseon' 20 years ago.



Actor Song Kang-ho became the first Korean actor to win the Best Actor Award at Cannes for his Korean film 'The Broker', directed by Hirokazu Koreeda, which depicts the story of a baby box.

Actor Kang-ho Song, who was a jury member of the Cannes Film Festival last year, was invited to the 7th Cannes and was honored with the award.
