He also said that the cessation of the last drifting station in 2013 is due to the effects of climate change.

“The ice was not strong enough, we had to urgently evacuate,” Makarov explained.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, at a meeting with his deputies, said that the Russian government had decided to expand the program to support private investment in the Arctic and the Far East.
