Högsbo is one of the districts in Gothenburg where staff have for some time used electric bicycles to quickly get to different users.
But several electric bicycles have been stolen when the staff has been out in the field.
So far this year, seven of about twenty electric bicycles at the home care service in Högsbo have been stolen.
Last year, eight electric bicycles were stolen.
The whole city of Gothenburg
In the entire city of Gothenburg, a total of 101 electric bicycles were stolen during the period 2020 to May 2022, according to a survey conducted by the home care service in the city of Gothenburg at the request of SVT.
The information is based on figures from 7 of the home care service's 8 areas of activity and the actual number may be slightly higher.
Economic issue
Sven Andersson is unit manager for the home care service in Norra Högsbo, City of Gothenburg.
- It is very uneconomical for the home care service that already has problems with costs for transport and round time.
The home care service in Norra Högsbo is now looking at other solutions with electric vehicles that are not as easy to steal.
