The Russian army announced today, Saturday, that it has successfully carried out a new test of a hypersonic missile, among the weapons described by Russian President Vladimir Putin as "indomitable".

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that it had launched a Tsirkon cruise missile from the Barents Sea and hit a target in the White Sea, at a distance of up to 1,000 km.

The statement indicated that the launch took place as part of Russia's "testing of new weapons."

President Putin described the Tsirkon missiles as part of a new generation of "indomitable" weapons systems.

Supersonic weapons can move at up to 9 times the speed of sound, and Russia has previously tested Tsirkon missiles from warships and submarines last year.

The first Tsirkon missile was launched in October 2020, and President Putin at the time praised a "big event", and then other tests were conducted, especially from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate and from an underwater submarine.

And after the Russian war on Ukraine on February 24 last;

Last March, Moscow announced that it had used "Kinzhal" hypersonic missiles against targets in this country. It is believed that this was the first use of this missile in combat operations;

Moscow had not previously announced its launch, except in the context of experiments.
