A private school sues a parent for 2,000 dirhams in arrears of tuition fees

A private school has filed a lawsuit against the father of a child in kindergarten for his late payment of the remaining tuition fees, while the Abu Dhabi Court for Family and Civil and Administrative Claims ordered the defendant to pay the school an amount of 2,130 dirhams.

In the details, a private school filed a lawsuit against a guardian, demanding that he pay her an amount of 2,630 dirhams and the legal interest at 12%, and oblige him to pay fees and expenses and in return for fees, noting that the defendant did not pay the rest of the school fees to his son for the last academic year and attached a document to her claim It included a copy of an account statement, a copy of a student registration document, and a copy of other documents.

For its part, the court clarified that according to the Law of Evidence in Civil and Commercial Transactions, the plaintiff must prove his right and the defendant may deny it, noting that what is proven from the student’s account statement (the defendant’s son) attached to the lawsuit is that the defendant owes the plaintiff an amount of 2,630 dirhams and a creditor to her in the amount of 500 dirhams And that the balance due to the plaintiff after deducting the amount credited to the defendant from the amount owed is 2130 dirhams.

The court noted that the evidence from the enrollment application form attached to the lawsuit is that the defendant registered his son with the plaintiff for the 2022-2021 school year in a second kindergarten class. The court obligates him to pay the plaintiff the amount of the claim, and the court rejected the school’s request for an interest of 12%, and the court ruled to obligate the defendant to pay the plaintiff an amount of two thousand one hundred and thirty dirhams and obligated him to pay fees and expenses.
