Just a few days ago, Yes announced that White would not be joining the band's upcoming tour due to health issues.
Alan White joined Yes in 1972 and has been a regular member ever since.
Among other things, he played on the band's only Billboard track "Owner of a lonely heart" from 1983.
White also played on several of Beatles member John Lennon's solo projects, including songs such as "Imagine" and "Instant Karma!"
- with its memorable clattering drum sound.
When Lennon first called in 1969, he could not believe his ears.

I thought it was a polar bear who drove with me so I hung up and went back to the kitchen, White has previously said.
White also played on Beatles guitarist George Harrison's solo album "All Things Must Pass."
